Privacy Policy

noxtis is a desktop code editor that runs on your machine. Your code, projects, and settings stay on your computer. The editor has no telemetry and no analytics. It works fully without an account using local models; hosted models require a free Noxtis account and are paid for with prepaid credits. The only network requests it makes are the ones you ask for: signing in and running hosted models through our servers, and checking GitHub for updates.

Your code and filesare read and written locally. They are never uploaded to us — we don't operate servers that receive them.

AI conversations.When you use a hosted AI model, the messages you send — which can include file contents and project context you bring into the conversation — pass through our gateway to a model provider to generate a response, and are handled under that provider's terms. We meter each request's cost but do not retain the content of your prompts or the model's replies beyond what's needed to complete the request. When you use local models (Ollama), everything runs on your machine and nothing leaves it.

Settings (such as your model choice and preferences) are stored locally on your device. When you sign in to a Noxtis account, your login session is kept on your device so you stay signed in between launches.

Update checks.The editor periodically contacts GitHub to check for and download signed updates. GitHub sees the standard technical data of any web request (such as your IP address) under GitHub's own privacy policy. You can use the editor without updating.

The marketing pages use no tracking cookies and no analytics scripts. The site also has account pages (sign-up, login, and credit top-ups); using those creates the account data described below. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) to serve and secure the site.

Using hosted models requires a Noxtis account. For it we collect the minimum needed to run the service: your email address, the name you provide, and your credit balance and usage history. Payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) — we never receive or store your card details.

When you use a hosted model, your request passes through our gateway so we can route it to a model provider and meter its cost against your credit balance. We keep a record of each request's model and token/credit cost for billing; we do not store the content of your prompts or the model's responses.

noxtis is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Today we hold almost none — but for any request or question, email contact@noxtis.app.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes that affect account holders will be announced in the app or by email.
